Steps
1. Consultation: Our laser expert will evaluate the tattoo, including its size, colours, intensity of the pigment, and age, as well as your skin type and medical history. We will then discuss the number of sessions required, possible results, and any risks or side effects.
2. Preparation: The tattoo area to be treated is cleaned thoroughly to remove any dirt or oils and a protective eyewear will be put on to shield the eyes from the laser light.
3. Laser Tattoo Removal Treatment: The appropriate laser type is chosen based on the tattoo’s colour and your skin type. The laser will then emit short pulses of light that pass through the outer layers of the skin and are absorbed by the tattoo ink. The laser energy breaks the ink particles into smaller fragments, which are then gradually absorbed and eliminated by the body’s immune system.
4. Post-Treatment Care: The treated area will be cooled with ice packs to reduce discomfort and swelling.

This is a case-to-case basis, depending on the size of the tattoo, one session with the pico laser can take 15 up to 30 minutes.
There is little discomfort during the treatment, but it is not at all painful. To further alleviate the discomfort, make sure to:
– Avoid the use of the sauna for at least 3 days after the laser tattoo removal session
– Apply sunscreen with a high level of SPF
Common side effects may include swelling, redness, soreness, and a little discomfort. A cold compress helps in reducing these.
After the procedure, swelling and minor discomfort can be experienced, which is a common side effect of any treatment. Redness can last up to two weeks and gradually fade. It takes about 2 to 3 weeks for the area to recover.
It takes more than one session to completely eliminate the pigment from the body. The number of sessions depends on your skin and the tattoo you want to remove. During the consultation, our laser experts will explain how many sessions are needed based on the size of the tattoo, the type of pigment used, and the pigment’s intensity. In most cases, 6 to 8 sessions work best to see the desired results.
After Care
- Keep the treated area clean and avoid getting water or any other products on it for at least 24 hours after the pico laser treatment. Thereafter, gently wash the tattoo area with mild soap and water twice a day, patting it dry with a clean towel.
- If you experience some swelling and redness after the procedure, apply an ice pack to the treated area to reduce any discomfort.
- We usually recommend applying an ointment to the treated area to prevent infection and aid in healing.
- Avoid picking or scratching at the tattoo area, as this can cause scarring or infection.
- Wear a hat or use sunscreen with SPF30 or higher to protect the area from the sun and prevent hyperpigmentation and delay healing.
- Avoid activities that cause sweating for at least 48 hours after the laser tattoo removal procedure.
