What Is Powder Brows

Powder Brows, also known as Ombré Brows are a semi-permanent brow enhancement that creates a soft, powder brow makeup look with a gentle gradient, lighter at the front and gradually darker toward the tail. The pigment is applied using a machine to build smooth shading, helping brows look fuller, more defined, and evenly shaped.

This method is highly versatile and works for all skin types, including oily or mature skin, where other techniques might blur or fade prematurely. It delivers a clean, polished, “lifted” finish that balances natural softness with definition, making it ideal for anyone who wants consistently groomed brows without daily makeup application.

Powder Brows vs Microblading

Powder Brows and microblading differ mainly in the finish they create. This shading technique creates a soft, diffused look that can range from natural to more defined, while microblading produces a hair-stroke effect with fine, etched lines that mimic individual brow hairs. 

In terms of longevity and upkeep, powder brows typically hold their overall look longer and tend to fade more evenly, while microblading often needs more frequent refreshers as the strokes soften over time. Ombré techniques also rely on controlled pigment layering rather than manual incisions, which generally results in a gentler process and a more stable, consistent result for many clients.

Steps

We begin with a consultation to understand your preferred brow style, assess your natural brows and facial features, and map out a shape that complements your face. A pigment shade is then selected to match your complexion and desired intensity.

Before the treatment, we cleanse and prep your brow area, then apply a topical numbing cream for comfort. We review and refine the mapped shape to ensure balance and symmetry before starting.

We layer the color into your skin using a specialised machine technique, building it gradually to create a soft gradient effect. This process achieves a smooth, polished, powder-finish result that looks natural and well-defined.

After your session, you’ll receive detailed aftercare guidance to support proper healing and long-lasting results. Mild redness may appear initially, and your brows will soften as they heal. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to check the healing of your eyebrows, at which point we will determine whether a second session is needed to perfect your final look.

DOS & DON'TS

Care After Your Treatment

Keep Brows Dry

Keep the area as dry as possible and avoid direct contact with water for 7 to 10 days while the brows settle. 

Apply Aftercare Balm

Use the recommended aftercare balm in a thin layer as advised by our therapist to support the healing process.

Let Skin Heal

Healing typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. Allow any flaking to occur naturally and avoid picking at the area as the skin settles. 

Avoid Touching

Refrain from touching, rubbing, scratching, or picking at your brows, even if they feel itchy during healing.

Pause Makeup and Skincare

Avoid makeup on the brow area for 2 weeks and pause exfoliants, retinol, acids, and peels until fully healed.

Protect with SPF

Once your brows have completely recovered, apply sunscreen daily to preserve the colour and minimise fading over time.

Powder Brows generally take about 4 to 6 weeks to fully settle, with the first couple of weeks being the most noticeable for surface healing. It’s normal for brows to look darker at first and then soften as they heal.

Right after treatment, brows can appear more intense, which is expected in the early days. As the skin heals, the color typically softens into the final shade.
