Whenever you see your favourite stars on TV, you might have wondered more than once how their face looks so flawless – perfect shape and perfect features. One of the most prominent features that determine their looks is their eyebrows. The eyebrows determine whether the face looks sharp or soft. So how do eyebrows decide just that? Do each face has a best-suited eyebrow shape?
Eyebrow treatment experts in Dubai says that each kind of face has a particular eyebrow shape that suits it best. For understanding what kind of eyebrow shape suits your face, you first need to determine the type of face you have.
Finding your face shape
There are six basic face shapes everyone is aware of. These are oval, round, long, square, heart and diamond. To find out what your face shape is, tie back your hair and look at yourself in the mirror. Here are the features that determine each face shape –
Oval face shape – People with an oval face shape has a forehead that’s wider than their chin and prominent cheekbones. Their face gracefully tapers to a narrow chin.
Round face shape – A round face is almost as wide as it is long. People with round face have the very wide cheeks.
Long face shape – This face shape is characterised by a forehead, cheekbones and jawlines which are all of the same widths. The face gracefully tapers to a narrow oval chin.
Square face shape – People with square face shape will have forehead, cheekbones and jawline all in the same width. However, these people have a prominent squared jawline and hence the name.
Heart face shape – A heart face shape is similar to an oval face but the chin tapers to a point.
Diamond face shape – This is the rarest face shape among people. The face is typically angular with a short forehead and the face widest at the temples.
Choosing an eyebrow shape
Each face shape has an eyebrow shape that is most suited for it. The perfect eyebrows for the oval face is a soft angled eyebrow shape. This eyebrow shape goes straight up and then gently curves around at the top and down.
A rounded eyebrow shape is best suited for a heart-shaped face. The low arch of the rounded brow creates a natural look. For a shorter heart-shaped face, an arched brow can add length and create a more dramatic look.
While choosing an eyebrow shape for a long face, the idea is to make it look shorter. A flat brow shape makes the face appear shorter than it actually is by drawing the eye to the horizontal line of the eyebrow. On the other hand, for a round face, the goal is to make it look longer. This helps draw the eye up and down the face making it look longer than it actually is. A high arched brow accomplishes this. A brow shape that follows a straight line to the peak of the brow creates more vertical lines on the face, helping it look elongated.
A square face needs to balance out its strong features by taking away the attention from the jawline. A well defined sharp peak at the top of the brow makes the brow appear stronger. The angled brow also helps balance the features. A curved brow shape will also work on a square face by softening the features.
Similar to that of a square face, curves help soften the angles of a diamond shaped face. The curved brow helps make the widest portion of the face look less wide.
