What To Expect After Nanoblading, A Guide

thumbnail preview

Eyebrow nanoblading has become a globally popular procedure that helps a person attain fuller natural-looking brows with relative ease and comfort. While the procedure is not complicated or painful, it is important to know what to expect after the treatment to recover safely and quickly so will provide you with all the essential information.

What’s nanoblading?

Before exploring what happens after the procedure, it is important to know what exactly the treatment is. Nanoblading is a type of microblading that utilizes smaller needles to achieve thinner and more accurate strokes. Due to the difference in tool size, there is less pain and bleeding, making this treatment more comfortable than other similar procedures. Results also last longer, with new treatments not being required for up to three years.

Nanoblading consists of two steps: the initial treatment and a follow-up session to perfect the results. In the first session, the desired eyebrow shape will be discussed with the technician. They will draw it on your brows and make adjustments to ensure it resembles what you have in mind. Once the shape and colour have been decided, a numbing cream will be applied to the area. Then using a needle and pigment, we will create hair-like strokes to fill your brows. The follow-up session will typically be held in 4 to 8 weeks, where the technician will perfect the eyebrows by adding new strokes and adjusting the eyebrow shape.

What should you expect after the treatment?

Your brow colour will look darker than expected.

As the pigment has been freshly applied, it will look darker than the colour you had in mind. However, this is not the final look as it will fade gradually over the next two weeks and more closely resemble the actual colour desired.

The eyebrow area could be red and inflamed.

While nanoblading is not a highly invasive procedure, there will still be some redness, soreness and swelling in and around the treated area. It is because the pigments are inserted using minor cuts to the outermost layer of your skin. The skin will heal normally, and you will be given antibiotic ointment to apply to the area for the first 24 hours.

The complete healing process could take four weeks

It can take up to four weeks for eyebrows that have been nanobladed to heal completely. While any discomfort will reduce within the first few days, it can take three to four weeks for the eyebrow strokes to blend in with your natural hair.

You have to avoid wetting the eyebrows.

Water can do significant damage to newly nanobladed brows. It could loosen and remove pigment, thereby affecting the colour of your brows, and excess moisture could even cause painful infections. It is recommended not to wet the brows until all the scabs have fallen off. While showers are not recommended for at least 48 hours, if you want to wash your face, do so while avoiding the eyebrow area.

Knowing what to expect after a nanoblading procedure will ease any anxiety you may have about the procedure. For more information on this treatment, contact our consultants at BROWZ Dubai, who will assist you.
